As our school’s first team, we truly embrace the belief that dedication, collaboration, and resourcefulness are the true drivers of change. With our motto, “if it works, it works”, we prove that with teamwork and creativity, true innovation transcends limitations. We don't just build a robot - we build each other up, ensuring we all have the chance to grow and excel. By working smart, thinking critically, and learning from one another, we turn challenges into opportunities. We regularly share tips, teach one another, and break down complex concepts. Our success is rooted in our environment, where we can rely on each other, develop new skills, and embrace innovative approaches in our STEM endeavours. In our team, success isn't just about winning - its about growing, inspiring, and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve with the resources we already have.
Our Story
AlBaqir Academy Robotics first began during the Power Play season (2022-2023). We were completely new to the world of robotics, so we faced many challenges during our first few meets. We began with a simple starter bot and continued modifying from there. Although that season was full of uncertainty, we learned a great deal—not only about designing, programming, and building robots, but also about teamwork, problem-solving, professional development, and to enjoy the robotics journey.

This year, AlBaqir Academy had a total of 15 students from grades 7-12 on the robotics team. We had the opportunity to start fresh, think critically, research, discuss with each other, build a better robot, and make significant improvement throughout the season. We ensured that everyone was fully committed—not just as a team, but as a community that tackled challenges and never gave up or settled, no matter the the challenges. Despite limited funding, we believe that ingenuity and effective problem solving are key to achieving real impact.

We dedicate around 4-5 sessions per week to our mission. Sometimes, we even have classes during weekends and PD days.
